ACFR is located principally within the Rose Street Building (Building J04) in the Engineering Precinct on the Darlington Campus at The University of Sydney, Australia. The nearest cross streets are Shepherd Street and Boundary Street, Chippendale and entry is via Gate 2. It is approximately two kilometres south of the Sydney CBD.

The campus is well served by public transport (both bus and rail) and by taxis. Sydney Airport is located about 25 minutes to the south of the University. From the airport you can get to the University by taxi, rental car or rail.

Directions by taxi
If you are arriving by taxi, please ask your driver to take you to the corner of Calder Road & Shepherd Street, Darlington (near the Seymour Centre/University of Sydney). Enter through the Gate 2, go across the carpark and down the drive on the left side of the Rose Street Building (next to the grass area). Follow the drive around to the right where you will see the glass entryway.
Directions by car
Head out of the CBD along George Street/Broadway/Parramatta Road and turn left onto City Road. Passing Victoria Park on your right. Turn left onto Cleveland and right onto Shepherd Street. There is a multi-story car park on the corner of Cleveland and Shepherd, next to the Seymour Centre. Alternatively, there is car parking next to the Rose Street Building, entry via Gate 2. Both are accessed from Shepherd Street. See the map for further details.
Directions by rail
The closest train station is Redfern Station and is a 800m (about 5 minutes) walk to ACFR. Exiting Redfern Station, turn left to walk west on Lawson Street, turn left (south-west) onto Abercrombie Street, and then right (North-ish) on Shepherd Street. Entry via Gate 2.
- CAUTION: Caution should be taken around Redfern railway station alone after dusk.
- Free buses run to and from Fisher Library and Redfern station in the evening during semester.
The Rose Street Building has secure access. Use the phone by the door to call the extension of the person you are visiting or Reception on ext. 17126.

You may park your car in the University grounds by paying a daily or hourly fee. Parking metres are located in each parking area. There is limited parking in surrounding streets unless arriving early in the day.
