Visiting us
ACFR is located principally within the Rose Street Building (Building J04) in the Engineering Precinct on the Darlington Campus at The University of Sydney, Australia. CAS (ARC Centre for Autonomous Systems) is also located here. The nearest cross streets are Shepherd Street and Boundary Street, Chippendale. It is approximately two kilometres south of the Sydney CBD. The campus is well served by public transport (both bus and rail), and by taxis.

The campus is well served by public transport (both bus and rail) and by taxis. Sydney Airport is located about 25 minutes to the south of the University. From the airport you can get to the University by taxi, rental car or rail.

Advise your driver that the nearest cross streets to the Rose Street Building are Shepherd Street and Boundary Street, Chippendale.
Directions by car
From Sydney CBD (i.e. from George Street/Broadway) turn left into City Road. Victoria Park will be on your right. Turn left at Cleveland Street at the Seymour Centre corner, then next right into Shepherd Street. Approximately 400m down on the right (opposite Calder Road) is a university entrance and a carpark. The Rose Street Building is next to the carpark. See the map for further details.
Directions by rail
The Sydney suburban rail network, CityRail is quite large, and runs close to the University. Redfern Station is the nearest railway station and is about a 5 minute walk. Exiting Redfern Station, turn left to walk west on Lawson Street, turn left (south-west) onto Abercrombie Street, and then right (North-ish) on Shepherd Street.
- CAUTION: It can be dangerous to walk around Redfern railway station alone after dusk, as you may be threatened or even attacked. Be aware of your surroundings, and be careful.
- Free buses run to and from Fisher Library and Redfern station in the evening during semester.
Building access
The Rose Street Building has a secure access and you must use the telephone by the front door to call the extension number of an occupant to let you in. If in doubt, call 17126 (Centre Business Office). Access is only via security card. ACFR Administrative Staff (telephone +61 2 9351 7126 or ) will provide a visitor card for short term visits. For long term visitors (visiting scholar/occupational trainee) other arrangements can be made.

Day visitors
You may park your car in the University grounds by paying a daily or hourly fee. Parking metres are located in each parking area. There is limited parking in surrounding streets unless arriving early in the day.
